I think I always misunderstood. The article discusses RedBox and how Fox is trying to prevent the sale of copies of RedBox movies for 30 days after its release. Article said that the company talkies for sale in the original release date, but only with benefit-sharing options. I thought the Blockbuster business and other films have been under contract to provide rental charges. Now, I feel Blockbuster movies you buy for cash and do not share profits. Therefore, anyone can buy a movie on the shelf for any Walmart then rent what they want … and morality? Does anyone have information on what might clarify this for me?

"Ma and Pa" (no chain) rental shops would not exist if they could not. what is illegal is to make a copy and multiple copies of this movie and then rent or sell.
