Cd rom drive not working!?
I bought a new printer, and i have to install it to my pc…but when i put the cd in, it wont work. When i go to my computer, i don’t even see the sign! my computer is windows XP…can anyone help?
Btw I tried audio cds and dvds too they wont work! And it was WORKING last week! please help!
Check if autorun is off, enable autorun:
1. Click Start, then Run. Type regedit and click OK.
2. Locate the following Key/Data name:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionpoliciesNoDriveTypeAutoRun
3. Right-click on NoDriveTypeAutoRun in the Name column on the right and choose Delete.
4. Restart your computer.

Do you get any error messages?

Try to test the CD drive by booting a CD from it like see if your XP CD will boot when you start the PC
Could be the lazer is gone on the cd drive means you might need to replace the cd drive.
