(Why is it that the ham was on the black market is When France was occupied by the Nazis?) I recently saw the movie The Last Metro (Le Dernier Metro). It takes place in occupied France during the Second War. In the film, the main character is to a ham on the black market. Why?
Food and almost everything else was rationed by Germans.
